An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced mobilisation project manager to join Rotala’s Diamond Bus North West operation in Greater Manchester. Following the recent award of seven bus franchise contracts, we are looking for an experienced project manager to lead the mobilisation these contracts.
The city-region is the first to use powers contained within the Bus Services Act 2017, with Diamond appointed to run some of Greater Manchester’s first locally controlled bus services since they were deregulated in 1986, signifying the biggest change to public transport in generations.
About the role
The Franchise Mobilisation Project Manager is an interim role for a period of 12 months responsible for ensuing the successful transition of newly awarded bus franchise contracts in Greater Manchester. The key objective of this role is to ensure a smooth mobilisation of contracts, good relations with the client (TfGM/GMCA) and ensuring all actions are completed and fully handed over to the steady state operations team.
Diamond is Greater Manchester’s second largest bus operator and one of only two operators chosen to operate the first franchise contracts in GM. The business will experience significant change during the mobilisation period with this role playing an important part in that process. Diamond is part of the wider Rotala group, which operates bus services on a commercial and contract basis across the UK.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead a group of colleagues through the mobilisation process. You will have significant experience of mobilising contracts, preferably in a regulated bus or passenger transport industry, and have significant operational and contract management experience. You should be able to effectively communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders, including both public and private sector organisations. You should be numerically minded with the ability to interpret complex contractual documents and processes.
The primary working location will be at the company’s depots in Greater Manchester (Bolton and Eccles) with scope for a limited amount of remote working. We are open to discussing pay and determining an appropriate salary with the right candidate. We are also open to discussing at interview the possibility of part-time working to suit the right candidate. We are hoping to commence the role as soon as possible, for a period of 12 months.
