New Kidderminster 8 Service
20 October 2020
From Monday 26th October, Kidderminster services 1 to Rifle Range and 2 to Hales Park will be replaced.
Our new service 8 will replace both routes with a new hourly service from Rifle Range to Hales Park via Kidderminster.
We have been working closely with Wyre Forest MP, Mark Garnier and local councilors to find a solution to provide a viable service to the residents of Habberley and Bark Hill. We are pleased to announce that both of these areas will also be incorporated into the service 8 route from Monday.
The new route will go via Canterbury Road to serve Habberley Estate and via The Lakes Road for Bark Hill on an initial trial basis and Diamond will continue to review patronage along these sections of route.
Bob Baker, Managing Director for Diamond Bus said, "The new route 8 will be funded entirely commercially, without the assistance of local government subsidy. We are introducing the Bark Hill and Habberley sections on a trial basis at this time, therefore we urge residents to use and support this service so that we may be able to sustain it long-term".
MP Mark Garnier added “I am delighted that Diamond Buses have hopefully found a solution and it is now down to the residents to use this service, especially from the two estates which have previously seen the removal of their routes. Passenger numbers are vital to ensure the viability of any route”.
Service 8 commences Monday 26th October, with an hourly service operating Mondays to Saturdays. To view the new timetable, please click here.
