Swinton Roadworks - Travel information

Swinton Roadworks

22 January 2020

North West

Following the recent disruption caused by temporary traffic lights in Swinton, for Cadent gas main replacement works, some services will be adjusted from 23rd January 2020 in order to alleviate delays.

We have been in extensive contact with Transport for Greater Manchester and Salford City Council over these works, and it appears that no significant improvement is expected to the traffic conditions in the area.

2 Bolton - Trafford Centre: This service appears to be running without significant delays, we will continue to monitor and will advise of any changes if required.

27 Swinton - Manchester Shudehill: no changes to this service at the moment, service will be monitored and further changes made if required.

29 Little Hulton - Pendleton: no changes to this service at the moment, service will be monitored and further changes made if required.

36/37/X39: Bolton/Farnworth - Manchester: It is not possible to divert these services without taking a very long detour from the usual route, which would miss out a large number of stops. Instead, our controllers will be monitoring services and managing frequencies via GPS tracking. During the morning peak period, a Diamond Inspector will be based in Swinton assisting with service regulation.

66 Eccles - Clifton: This service will operate only between Eccles and Swinton Civic Centre. Passengers at Clifton are advised to use the Swinton-Clifton shuttle bus - details at www.tfgm.com. Note, the first two journeys (on weekdays) at 0640 and 0735 will still start at Clifton.

73 Salford Quays - Clifton: This service will only operate between Swinton (Partington Lane turning circle) and Salford Quays. Clifton and Station Road, Swinton will not be served. Passengers advised to use the Swinton-Clifton Shuttle Bus - details at: www.tfgm.com

79 (Clifton) - Swinton - Stretford: no changes to this service at the moment, service will be monitored and further changes made if required.

The works are scheduled to last for another 10 weeks, please keep an eye on this page and our Twitter pages for further updates throughout the works.
