Worcestershire Service Changes August 21

Worcestershire Service Changes

02 August 2021

Worcester and Warwickshire

From 29th August, there will be changes to some Diamond services in Worcestershire.

As more people begin to travel, we will be increasing the frequency on our services along the popular corridor between Redditch, Bromsgrove and Kidderminster. From August 29th, the existing services 42, 43 & 55 will be renumbered and include some changes to the connections for Redditch Alexandra Hospital, Bromsgrove Princess of Wales Hospital and Kidderminster Hospital. Redditch 47 & 48 services will also be replaced with a new 11 Service and the 70 service to Astwood Back will be replaced by a new service 12.

Service 52 Redditch to Kidderminster / 52A Redditch to Bromsgrove:

Our new 52 Service will replace service 42, providing an increased hourly frequency link between Redditch, Bromsgrove & Kidderminster - Mondays to Saturdays, with a reduced Sunday service. The 52 will follow the same route as the former 42 to terminate at Kidderminster Bus Station. The 52 service will not continue to Kidderminster Hospital, which will be served by other Diamond services from this date.

The new 52A will replace service 43, providing a new link between Alexandra Hospital and the Princess of Wales Hospital, calling at Redditch Bus Station and both Bromsgrove Rail Station and Bus Station. The 52A will operate an hourly frequency Mondays to Saturdays. An hourly timetable between the Alexandra Hospital and Redditch Bus Station only will operate on Sundays, with good connection times to the 52 service to Bromsgrove & Kidderminster.

The 52A will also replace the 55 & 55C Redditch service. It will operate to Alexandra Hospital via the former 55 route, calling at Oakenshaw and Tesco. Between Redditch and Bromsgrove Princess of Wales Hospital the 52A will follow the same route as the former 43.

New regular links between Kidderminster Bus Station and Kidderminster Hospital will be created by our revised 8, 125 and 292 services - Offering a bus from Kidderminster Bus Station to the hospital upto every half hour during Monday to Saturday daytimes.

Service 8 Rifle Range to Hales Park:

There will be changes to the Kidderminster 8 service from 29th August, to accommodate the new connection to Kidderminster Hospital. Our new 8 service will operate an increased frequency every 30 minutes between Rifle Range and Kidderminster Town Centre and a regular hourly frequency to the Hospital, Bewdley, Hales Park & Bark Hill.

Service 3 Kidderminster to Areley Kings:

The 3 timetable will be amended to offer an increased frequency to every 15 minutes during peak times and maintaining a service upto every 20 minutes during non-peak daytimes and Saturdays and an hourly service on Sundays. Additional running time has been added to improve reliability.

Service 11 Redditch to Washford Mill:

There will be changes to our services between Redditch and Crabbs Cross, when the current 47 & 48 service will be replaced by the new Diamond 11 service. Our new 11 service will operate an increased frequency every 30 minutes between Redditch and Washford Mill Monday to Saturday and an hourly service between Redditch and Alexandra Hospital on Sundays. Between Redditch and Washford Mill, the 11 will follow the same route as the current 47/48. The 11 service will terminate at Washford Drive and return to Redditch via the hospital, Crabbs Cross & Webheath.

The sections of Matchborough & Winyates currently served by the 47/48 will not be served by the replacement 11 service, however the 57/58 route continues to provide a frequent service along this section. Links will be provided at bus stops along Washford Drive for those wishing to connect between Matchborough, Winyates and the 11 route.

Service 12 Redditch to Astwood Bank:

From 29th August, there will also be changes to services between Redditch and Astwood Bank, when the current 70 service will be replaced by the new Diamond 12 service.

Our new 12 service will operate an increased frequency every 30 minutes between Redditch and Astwood Bank Monday to Saturday. The new 12 will also join the list of Diamond services which operate regularly to Alexandra Hospital, with the 12 route calling at the hospital every 30 minutes. Service 70S to Ridgeway Secondary School will also be replaced with a new 812 service. The 812 will operate the same route as the 12, extending to Ridgeway School for the morning and afternoon school journey.

These changes have enabled us to increase frequencies along the key corridor between Redditch, Bromsgrove & Kidderminster, increase services to Alexandra Hospital the Princess of Wales Hospital and increase frequency between Redditch, Crabbs Cross, Astwood Bank to maintain more regular services as more people begin to travel again.

Service 202 Bromsgrove to Halesowen:

There will also be some timetable changes to the 202 service to accommodate stand changes in Halesowen Bus Station
