2025
On the 5th January, Diamond NW successfully completed our change over for Tranche 3 franchises this mean we were now the only company to have won and run franchises in all 3 tranches across Greater Manchester.
2024
In December 2024, Diamond NW where named finalists in the Company of the Year category (second time in 3 years) and in the Culture Change category at the UK Bus awards and also in the Small/Medium Operator category on the Route One Awards.
In October, Rotala purchased another building in the centre of Bolton, this will become The Rotala Training Academy Building.
On 3rd September, Diamond NW were awarded seven school contracts by Transport for Greater Manchester and Greater Manchester Combined Authority. The contract involves the operation of 46 routes to over 30 different schools in Trafford, South Manchester, Stockport and Tameside.
On 11th July, after our success in 2023 achieving ISO 45001/14001 accreditations for our Eccles Depot, we were proud to announce that we'd successfully brought our Bolton Depot and our newly refurbished Head Office into certification.
On 28th March, Diamond NW were awarded 3 Small Franchises in the third tranche of franchise awards. This took all the franchises that we were to operate to 11 across all 3 tranches.
2023
November, Rotala opened their brand new head office in the centre of Bolton
From Saturday 23rd to Sunday 24th September, we successfully moved out of our Weston Street depot, moved into our new depot on Goodwin Street, and successfully launched the first ever journey on Greater Manchester's Bee Network with TfGM.
On 21st September 2023, we were named winners in the Wellbeing Award at the Bolton News Awards 2023. This was a massive achievement as it showed the continued improvements that had been made for all our staff.
On 29th June, our parent company Rotala announced they had agreed an order with Alexander Dennis for 67 ADL Enviro200 to be used on our franchised network.
On 23rd June, Diamond NW were awarded the small Oldham franchise in the Tranche 2 announcement.
On 5th June, Diamond NW were also awarded membership status by the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter becoming the First Transport operator in Greater Manchester to achieve this.
In May, Diamond NW expanded there footprint depot in Eccles
On 23rd January, Diamond NW were awarded 7 Small Franchises in the 1st Tranche of the Greater Manchester Bee Network to launch in September of that year.
2022
On 15th November, in London, Diamond NW were announced winners in the category of Best City Bus Operator and also won Silver UK Bus Operator of the Year at the 2022 UK BUS AWARDS.
On Wednesday 2nd November, Diamond Bus NW, became finalists in the Large Bus Operator of the Year category at the Route One awards 2022
In September, Diamond NW were announced, as winners of the Company of the Year at the Bolton News 'Build Back Bolton' awards 2022, this signalled the improvement and the investment that Diamond NW had put into the community over the years.
In July, Diamond NW, partnered with Go Ape to bring you the chance to spend a Sunday at the attraction.
In June, Diamond NW set up a partnership to work alongside RHS Bridgewater to bring a bespoke bus services to the attraction.
In February, Buddy the bear brought the Supersaver range to Salford.
2021
24th July, Diamond NW introduced a new open top summer service between Bolton and Ramsbottom called the Rammy Rambler.
In March, along with South-East Lancashire Community Rail Partnership, we introduced a brand new bespoke bus services to allow passenger to visit Rivington.
2020
In September, Diamond NW had the pleasure of operating the First 70 plate vehicle in Greater Manchester.
In March, The country went into its first Covid-19 lockdown. Diamond NW work tirelessly to keep people moving on their journeys that needed to get to places.
2019
In December, Diamond Bus North West announced that their chosen Charity was Once upon a Smile.
On 19 July, Diamond Bus finalised the purchase of the Bolton Western Street Depot from First Manchester and moved in, this was achieved after an evening of bus movements.
In June, Diamond Bus announced that they had purchased 10 brand new streetdeck vehicles.
2018
Rotala invested in a number of new Streetlite vehicles, in a brand new two tone blue livery.
2017
In 2017, Diamond NW expanded the business with the purchase of the Go Goodwins business in Eccles.
2015
Diamond NW was formed after the purchase of Green Triangle Buses, at our base in Atherton. Where we rolled out a new all blue fleet.
