North West

What a month!

It’s been 1 month since the regional bus network was fully integrated within the Transport for Greater Manchester Bee Network, with Diamond Bus playing a part in all 3 tranches.

This month has seen mother nature cause disruptions, we’ve had snow & strong winds from Storm Éowyn, however this hasn’t stopped us delivering services for the community.

Throughout January we've successfully delivered 99.64% of our scheduled operating mileage & have successfully operated every AM/PM school journey during this time. This is down to a culmination of hard work & dedication of our team.

With such a great start to the month, we treated all the team through one of our engagement events to a full cooked breakfast as a thank you for their hard work in delivering the exceptional figures we've seen.

The highlights of the last month have been reflected in the amount of compliments our team have received from the community of Greater Manchester , below are just a few examples.

2 members of staff at Blessed Thomas Halford School contacted us to express their thanks to our Franchise Manager Stephen.
“We broke down in the snow, the weather was horrendous. We decided to wait at the bus stop. We saw the BTH school bus approaching the driver didn't think twice & welcomed us on board. A very big thank you”.

“I just want to say a big thank you to the driver of the 87 bus that I was on today & alert you to their quick thinking/diligence towards their passengers. It was really appreciated and they are a credit to the Bee Network. I just wanted to say thank you and for the driver to be acknowledged."

“I'd like to voice my complete thanks & gratitude to the driver on the 132 from Wigan bus station on statue day 18th of Jan at 1050 am my 16 year old son who has been seizure free for 5 years unfortunately had a seizure on the bus. A member of the public assisted & informed the bus driver who ensured his safety called 999. Please could you thank you driver for me. Your wonderful staff deserve praise for their work.”

“I would like to thank the driver of the 521 bus Little Lever to Blackrod yesterday. My husband fell as he was getting off the bus. The driver called for an ambulance & stayed with him. He was told the ambulance would be about 5 hours so he very kindly took my husband to A&E. I can't thank him enough for what he did. Please pass on my thanks to him for his kindness & the care he showed to my husband”.

Tony Clegg, General Manager for Diamond Bus NW Says:
“I am so proud of the team here at Diamond Bus North West, under my leadership we have successfully achieved everything we have set out to do. On the launch day we successfully ran our journeys, although the elements tried to delay this. I am also proud to see that my drivers are getting the praise they deserve, I try to inspire them daily, on how to be better, I try to lead by example, and this is clearly working as my drivers are getting compliments through from TfGM.”
