21 Brand New low-emission buses for Diamond Bus in the West Midlands

02 March 2026

West Midlands

We are extremely excited to announce that Diamond Bus are introducing 21 brand new Enviro200 low-emission buses to our West Midlands Fleet.

The first seven vehicles entered service on 1st March, with the remaining 14 joining the fleet over the next few weeks. Some of these new buses will be operating on services 98/99 in the Solihull area and our new service 27 which will run between Solihull and Rubery, with the remainder operating across a variety of other West Midlands-based routes.

This delivery of new vehicles represents a major fleet upgrade for our West Midlands services. They are equipped with Alexander Dennis's advanced SmartPart efficiency technology and qualify for low-emission certification. Our parent company, Rotala Ltd, continues to drive investment in modernising our Midlands-based fleet, ensuring that our vehicles meet high standards for greener and more efficient bus services. This investment underscores our dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility while continuing to improve the quality of our services across a range of local routes.

Not only do they enhance reliability and performance, but they also contribute to a more enjoyable journey experience for our passengers. Featuring light, bright interiors with ergonomic seating, CCTV and next stop audio-visual announcements, these buses provide a stylish and comfortable ride.

These new vehicles follow on from the successful introduction of seven Enviro200 buses to the Midlands fleet during 2025.

Rotala CEO Simon Dunn said: “Once again Alexander Dennis has proven to be a great choice for our ongoing fleet upgrades. The buses delivered to our West Midlands and Preston networks last year have been very popular with customers and drivers alike, and are delivering on one of our key business strategies; to reduce our environmental impact by always buying cleaner, greener vehicles. The Enviro200 is a beautiful bus, and we’re all looking forward to customers enjoying these new additions.”

Simon Wood, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, said: “We couldn’t be prouder that Rotala has chosen Alexander Dennis once again for new low-emission, passenger-pleasing buses. It’s a pleasure to work with Simon and the team once again on this significant fleet upgrade for the West Midlands.”
