Diamond Bus North West Achieves Living Hours Accreditation – Leading the Way for the Transport Industry in Greater Manchester

Diamond Bus North West is proud to announce that it has become the first transport operator in Greater Manchester to be accredited as a Living Hours Employer to accompany our Real Living Wage Employer accreditation we gain in 2022.

These accreditations, awarded by the Living Wage Foundation, recognise employers who go beyond the government minimum and commit to paying a real Living Wage based on the actual cost of living, as well as guaranteeing secure and predictable working hours.

By achieving this milestone, Diamond Bus North West reinforces its commitment to fair pay, decent work, and sustainable employment for its colleagues across Greater Manchester.

“Being recognised as both a Living Wage and Living Hours Employer reflects our ongoing commitment to valuing our people and ensuring fairness and stability in their working lives,” said Emma Bestwick-Woods, Group HR Director at Diamond Bus North West.

“Our teams play a vital role in keeping Greater Manchester moving every day. We believe that offering fair pay and predictable hours isn’t just the right thing to do for our people – it’s key to driving our industry forward and building a stronger, more inclusive transport network.”

The accreditation forms part of Diamond Bus North West’s broader Putting our people first strategy, which focuses on creating a positive, supportive workplace culture, improving employee wellbeing, and fostering long-term careers within public transport.

As the company continues our operations across Greater Manchester, this achievement sets a new benchmark for responsible employment practices within the local transport sector.
