Changes to Services 8 & 9

Derbyshire Leicestershire Staffordshire

From 9th November Route 8 and 9 will change.

We are changing the way we operate these services in order to improve reliability on both of these services.

Both 8 & 9 services will terminate at Burton New St, with onward travel to Queens Hospital available with the introduction of a new 7 & 7A service to the Hospital.

Service 7 will operate Monday to Saturday. Service 7A will operate Monday to Sunday.

The buses will change service number at Burton New St, however passengers are permitted to stay on the bus* and travel through from Service 8 to the 7A or, from service 9 to the 7 (On Sundays Service 9 will change into a Service 7A). The way these services will interwork is shown in the table below.

Passengers do not need to disembark* or re-scan a ticket at Burton New St for onward travel towards the Hospital or vice versa.

(*Some connections may require transfer of buses).

7 Route to Queens Hospital:  New Street, Union Street, Station Street, Borough Road, St. Paul’s Square, St. Paul’s Street West, Shobnall Street, Dallow Street, Belvedere Road, Queens Hospital.

7 Route to New St: Queens Hospital, Belvedere Road, Norton Road, Foston Avenue, Calais Road, Horninglow Road North, Rolleston Road, St Mary’s Drive, St Luke’s Road, St John’s Road, Harper Avenue, Horninglow Road, Victoria Crescent,  Waterloo Street, Byrkeley Street, Derby Street, Borough Road, Station Street, Union Street, New Street.

7A Route to Queens Hospital:  New Street, Union Street, Station Street, Borough Road, Waterloo Street, Victoria crescent, Horninglow Road, Horninglow Road North, Harper Avenue, St. John’s Road, St. Luke’s Road, St. Mary’s Drive, Rolleston Road, Dover Road, Calais Road, Belvedere Road, Queens Hospital.

7A Route to New St: Queens Hospital, Belvedere Road, Dallow Street, Shobnall Street, St. Paul’s Street West, St. Paul’s Square, King Edward Place, Waterloo Street, Byrkley Street, Derby Street, Borough Road, Station Street, Union Street, New Street.
