Bus Changes on Services 8 & 9 11/09/2025 14:59:57
From Sunday 14th September 2025
The impact of extensive roadworks in the area are causing significant reliability problems on Service 8 & 9.
To help alleviate the problems, we are putting additional resources and buses into these routes to make these services more reliable.
There may be some instances where, on arrival at Burton New St, the Driver may request that you transfer onto an alternative bus to continue your journey.
This is to allow buses to recoup their journey time and reduce lateness on these services.
If you are asked to transfer:
- Please be understanding that this is to improve reliability of your services. The Driver will have received this instruction from our Traffic Control Office.
- Please follow the Drivers guidance on transferring
- Tickets purchased on the original part of your journey will remain valid for your transfer until your destination.
- If you purchased a Single - Please ensure you retain your ticket for your full journey
We will continue to monitor these services over the coming weeks. We are working hard to get your journeys running smoothly and we appreciate your understanding in this matter. Thank you.
Burton Statues Fair 10/09/2025 14:15:37
From 4pm Saturday 27th September until 2am Wednesday 1st October 2025
During the above dates, bus stops on New Street, Lichfield Street and the bus-only part of High Street will not be in use due to the Burton Statutes Fair.

Buses may drop off at different points when arriving into Burton.
Buses also stop at Burton Railway Station or Bargates if part of their usual route.
Sonic Boom Music Festival, Burton 09/09/2025 14:45:55
From Friday 12th until 19:00 Sunday 14th September
The Sonic Boom Music Festival will close High Street to buses from 06:00 Friday 12th until 19:00 Sunday 14th September.
During this time services 8, 9 & 401,402,402A, 403 will be diverted and will not be able to serve any stops on High Street.
The nearest alternative stops will be New Street.
Burton Road, Measham Closure. 09/09/2025 09:57:12
From 22nd-30th September 2025
During the above closure of Burton Road, Measham, the following stops on Service 19 will not be served in Oakthorpe:
The Square (Boncroft Gardens), Coronation Lane (Stretton View), Burton Rd (Chapel St)
Alternative stops are: Oakthorpe (New St) & Measham (Dysons Close)
A511 Overnight Closures 08/09/2025 13:08:46
From 17th September until 3rd Oct October 2025. Mondays to Fridays 20:00 - 06:00. Not Weekends.
The A511 will be closed overnights at Boundary (Between Woodville & Ashby de la Zouch), affecting Service 9.
During these times we will divert via Blackfordby & Norris Hill to get between Woodville & Ashby. The following stops will not be served:
A511 Ashby Road (Millfield St, Beech Drive, The Greyhound, Heath Lane)
Ashby/Burton Road (Ivanhoe Store, Anwell Lane, Ingles Hill Farm)
Burton Road (Prestop Park, Spring Avenue)
Alternative stops will be High St, Woodville (Hepworth Rd) & Burton Road, Ashby (School Lane)
This will not apply for daytime services or at weekends when the normal route will be followed
Ashby Statutes Fair 02/09/2025 10:03:10
From 12th until 17th September 2025
Market St, Ashby will be closed during the above dates for the Ashby Statutes Fair.
During this time Service 9 & 19 will be diverted as follows:
9 towards Airport & 19 towards Measham/Burton - North St, Bus Stopping near The Green
9 towards Burton - South St, Bus Stopping near opp. Union Passage.
